Dynamic duo...
The new Jack and Megan sound wise...
Their new MTV below... hmm.. Bonnie + Clyde (of the 30's, not the Jay-Z Beyonce crap), Mickey + Mallory comes to mind.
Tone + CC - Little Hurricane. Love them

Now Listening - Fiona Apple's new album
Fiona Apple - One of our... ok, my... favourite female singer songwriter of all time.
Her new album has a pretty short title by her standards - The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do.
So... 7 years since Extraordinary Machine , 13 years since the one with that looooong title, and 16 years since Tidal , the one that captured and still holds us... what of the new Fiona Apple?
Is she still as cool as when she played Tidal 's Shadowboxer as a 19 year-old?
Are the songs as dark sultry as Paperbag from (here we go) When The Pawn Hits The Conflicts He Thinks Like A King What He Knows Throws The Blows When He Goes To The Fight And He'll Win The Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters The Ring There's No Body To Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold You ?
Are the lyrics as clever as the title track of Extraordinary Machine ?
First listen through the 10 tracks - they are vintage Fiona Apple.
That voice, the themes, the lyrics, the pain... all there and then some.
Wadaya expect?? The girl recorded with Johnny Cash.... twice!!
here's the first single that can give Florence a good lung run...

A double act we wanna see live
Listening and Reviewing (still not sure how much we like it) Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros' new Album "Here".
The first track is pretty good though.
Bunch of bloody hippies =]
The singer's name is not even Edward!
We first know of them on Triple J Hottest 100 vol. 17 (a series of compilation we NEVER miss) with "Home".
Speaking of Triple J Hottest 100 vol. 17 , that was the year Mumford & Sons came in at No.1.
What a great band and they are better "live"!!!
Here are a couple of their songs we cannot get enough of:
Wish we could have caught them both with Old Crow Medicine Show on thier Railroad Revival Tour.
Rumours are they (Ed Sharpe supporting Mumford) will be in Australia together in October this year..
Ooooh yeah! We will be there.

RIP, Goodfella
Henry Hill Jr. (June 11, 1943 – June 12, 2012), wiseguy, goodfella, whose life gave Ray Liotta the role in one of the best films ever made - Goodfellas.
And one of the best lines ever in a film. So good I was made to recite it at the AD wedding =]
RIP (Rest In Peace, Rat In Pieces), Henry.

Quote of the day
One of my favourites of all time:
"It's the singer, not the song"
=]
Sunday Drive
We are listening to the radio and I am trying to figure out the opening bars of a song. Then I get it, 'Travis!' I say.
To which he says 'Gay'.
Right, this coming from the man who was just singing Belinda Carlisle.

Saturday Pre-breakfasts
I woke up this morning and immediately said 'I'm hungry'. To which the response was 'OH NO' (pretends to fall back asleep).
An hour later and this is where we re at. The leisurely breakfasts are a weekend treat I d rather wake early for than miss.
